Support & Understanding

Babies Suck Lactation was created by pediatric registered dietitian (RDN) and internationally board certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) Nila Williamson, to help parents navigate breastfeeding and feeding their infants under 1 year of age. Combining knowledge and informed information along with options and ideas, Nila supports you where you are.

Judgement Free

At Babies Suck Lactation we want to make sure you know you are not alone. We offer a safe space to laugh, cry, curse, and “feel all the feels” without judgement and attachment to outcome.

Different Together

At Babies Suck Lactation we celebrate that we are not all the same. And embrace that the way in which we feed our babies is not all the same. We continually work to educate ourselves on systemic inequities rooted in racism and discrimination that affect BIPOC and LGBTQI+ families, particularly around feeding their babies.

We recognize that not all individuals that give birth and lactate identify as female, and some identify neither as female nor male. Unfortunately gendered terms related to breastfeeding and parenting are common. We try as often as possible to use gender neutral language while at the same time providing clear information. Please know that despite our use of gendered language, particularly in written material, we are supportive of the diverse and complex landscape of infant feeding and bonding. When possible we will simply ask about preferred pronouns and words you identify with.

We are sincerely appreciative and open to receiving feedback and education on what we can do better.
